This was a very unusual commission for RENOVA because it appears to be a house extension, which we don’t normally do. It was in fact a sensitive part-renovation of a listed period house. As such, the works required planning permission which we managed to secure using a third party Conservation Architect.

Summary of Works:

These works required the renovation of an existing kitchen space in a period house, plus the construction of a glazed living room linked to the kitchen. The design and construction had to be sensitive to the existing house which is a listed building.

The works required the construction of a steel framed sun room with feature glazing by DASK windows. The existing kitchen was renovated and linked to the sun room via a remodelled opening and door. Original features were kept and enhanced where possible.

To finish a deck was added which links the new sun room and kitchen to the nearby gardens.

Finished result:

We like to think of these works as the renovation and rejuvenation of an unloved courtyard plus the renovation of the connecting kitchen. The result is a space that has been opened up and transformed from an old fashioned kitchen into a more modern kitchen/living room.
