This was a rare opportunity to work on a beautiful period house.
Our clients are good friends of RENOVA and they had just purchased this wonderful old house in Greystones. It needed complete modernisation and redesign, so we got the call. Our brief was to modernised the building fabric and utilities so that the building performed like a modern home. But, to maintain the character of the period house. This project required a planning application which we prepared and submitted. As shown in the photos very little of the original building survived, but sufficient did to retain the character of the original house on the site.
Unusually for RENOVA we designed and managed the external works on this project including paving, gardens, planting, boundaries. We also did the window dressings, so our client only needed to move in their furniture. After 130 years, this home is all set for it’s next lifetime.
