I am now living in my new house in Blainroe for 4 months and I absolute love it!  It took me a while to decide on a builder for this major retrofit and extension but following my first meeting in the Kilcoole office with the Renova team I was impressed by the whole set up.  Knowing absolutely nothing about renovation or building, I found the whole process with the team so professional and helpful.  Everything was discussed with me; the job was done on budget and on time.  Everybody who has come into my house has commented on the finish.  The team in the office, especially Sian for her ideas about design, and Barry on site were fantastic.  It was a seamless process and I enjoyed it.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Renova.

Project details

This renovation was the 5th deep retrofit renovation project for RENOVA in this development. Our client in this case was downsizing to this house from their home in Dublin. These houses are holidays homes and were built in the 1960’s, they have almost no insulation and are known to be cold. This is fine for a summer house, not not to live in all year around. The house layout was suited to holidaying and lacked many of the amenities required for modern living.

As usual, our brief was to modernise this house to make it comfortable and energy efficient. Naturally, there was an interior design brief too which was a contemporary home to our clients tastes, and their practical needs too.

Work started with a complete gutting of the house, including excavation of the concrete ground floor slab, and removal of sections of the roof. All interior walls were removed, so there wasn’t very much of the original house left.

This house was handed over to a satisfied client on time and without any budget dramas.
