Not every project at RENOVA is a Deep Retrofit. The brief for this Blackrock apartment wasn’t so much to improve comfort, but to update it aesthetically. The client had rented the apartment for a number of years and having now bought it, she wanted to make it her home.
As part of the service, RENOVA assisted in the removal of the apartment’s contents to storage for the duration of the works. As shown in the photos below, the strip-back was quite comprehensive, although not as deep as what would be carried out for a Deep Retrofit. Some retrofit works were carried out, but by and large, the works were cosmetic. The attic was insulated and the heating system was upgraded.
The apartment was fitted with a new bathroom with pressurised plumbing, a new kitchen, wardrobes, joinery and new flooring. The works included upgraded lighting and decoration. RENOVA assisted in moving the contents back into the home. The apartment was professionally cleaned and the renovated space was left in move-in condition.
While the design period for this project was longer than normal so as to suit the client, all works were carried out within five weeks. The client moved back into an aesthetically beautiful and visually transformed home.
